General: Hey, I'm Quibble. Currently trying to return to namespace after some time in a carefully curated bubble of the anon-only velociraptor zone (which is why the journal is a bit sparse atm). I can be found under the same username in various other places - I'm adding to the links in my sidebar as I set up. I'm a self-employed stationer/leatherworker, a multicrafter, disabled, in my forties, and a few sandwiches short of a picnic (it runs in the family).

What to expect: What I'm reading/writing/listening to/making. The story I'm currently losing sleep and or hair over, possibly with snippets (don't feel obligated to read). Squeeing/venting about something. Life stuff if something actually happens - like, "You won't believe what happened in the Post Office", not the daily minutiae. I tend not to talk about my disability/meds/etc. unless it's necessary for context (my coping strategy is distraction). Basically, I have a misfiring nerve in my abdomen which likes to tell me I'm being stabbed/on fire/a rat is chewing its way into my pelvis. Because it's a major nerve they can't operate without potentially crippling me, so I've had to just deal with it since 2006 (and the meds do a sterling number on the congenital brain weasels).

Friending Stuff: Feel free. If I like the look of your journal I'll subscribe back. If you decide it's not to be then unsubscribe, no harm, no foul. As far as commenting goes, I tend to dip in and out, and actively avoid topics that are difficult for me. Also, and I mention this because I've had trouble in the past: I don't feel that subscribing/friending brings an obligation to read someone's writing, in either direction. Don't get me wrong, I'll read your story if it catches my interest, but I don't need dramas because I skipped past a genre I have zero interest in (on the flipside, if I read it then you can be assured that it wasn't out of some sense of obligation).

Currently Fannish About: I mostly write origfic, but I'm currently writing some Good Omens & MCU (Loki-centric). I'm happy to chat about more fandoms than I can probably list (inc. but not limited to: Diana Wynne Jones, Discworld, Leverage, various Treks, Umbrella Academy, Netflix!Dirk Gently... I'll have to come back and add.)

Origfic: I write urban fantasy, sci-fi, and mash-ups thereof. I'm planning to add links to various fic journals and 'verses either in my sidebar or a masterpost, but, as mentioned before, only check something out if it catches your interest.

In your own space, set yourself some goals for the coming year. They can be fannish or not, public or private. Leave a comment in this post saying you did it. Include a link to your post if you feel comfortable doing so.

* Finish one of my longer WIPs.
* Finish at least six of the misc. craft projects I have dotted around the house.
* Write for 300 days this year (I've hit the 240 Habit Tracker on GYWO every year, but I know I can't do 350).
* Get my workshop back up and running, whether the sodding bathroom is finished or not.

Return to namespace is going okay so far...? I'm gradually snagging sites, adding userpics, etc. I've dipped a toe into friending memes, and am picking it up again now (so if I've suddenly friended you, hi! I swear there will be more journal, and an about-me, soon. I should probably do the about-me/profile first but my brain has only a passing acquaintance with linear thought process - and by passing acquaintance I mean it laughed in its face at a party once).

Okay so basically fuck gmail for not taking my phone number. I can't believe how many things are connected to gmail only.

Maybe I'm old fashioned, but I feel like I shouldn't have to buy a sodding burner phone just to set up a fandom-centric ID that's sandboxed from my walletname.
